Zaragoza vs Madrid, where to place a Distribution Center in Spain?

I have found this entry in Alejandro Serrano’s blog really interesting. It talks about which is the best place to locate a distribution center in Spain. When someone asks us this question, the most common thing is to think that this place would be Madrid, since it is in the center of Spain and it is so well communicated, but surprisingly this is not the correct answer. The best place to locate a distribution center in Spain is Zaragoza, and Alejandro gives us some arguments to defend this statement. The main reason is because it implies lower total costs: inbound logistics are cheaper since Zaragoza is closer to the main ports in Spain (Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia) and the costs of running a distribution center are also lower, since labor and rent costs are lower in Zaragoza than in Madrid.
