This article is great read, and applies directly to the recent speaker we had in class. Three U.S. cities, Philadelphia, Miami, and Seattle are all expected to emerge as leaders in the global trade network. The article discusses the importance of the ports proximity to population centers. Specifically, Miami is investing in the expansion of their port and transportation infrastructure. The logistics network is very important, and it’s interesting to see what cities are expected to become leaders and why they are expected to do so. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future with these locations and also the Port de Barcelona.
